Who says airport delays have to be a downer? If you’re a frequent traveler, you should know by now airports are one of the best places to pick up a hottie. Instead of getting annoyed at delays or long lines, saddle up by the bar and find yourself a date. If you don’t hit it off you never have to see the person again. No expectations necessary.

1.    Ask them a question

People are often reading at airports to pass the time. This is the perfect opportunity to break the ice. Ask them what they’re reading. Or you can ask them if they’ve heard when the flight will be leaving. Ask them how they like flying with a particular airline. The options are endless and unlike meeting someone in a bar, picking up someone at the airport seems less predatory and more inviting.

2.    Bring a business card

Your flight may be called to depart at any moment, you may be forced to change gates, or you may simply lose each other in the melee of exiting the plane or searching for luggage at baggage claim. In case your phone still isn’t on, be prepared to hand out a card or at least jot down your number on a piece of paper.

3.    Choose the right location

Certain credit card companies offer member access to premium lounges where complimentary drinks and snacks are served. Elite status fliers are also entitled to such privileges. If you qualify, use it to your advantage. If not, stick to an airport bar over the departure area. It will be much easier to strike up a conversation.

If all else fails and you don’t see anyone who strikes your fancy you can always check your online dating account and see if anyone cute has emailed you. It’s a great way to multitask.
