The search for Mr. or Mrs. Right can be a difficult and arduous one. Going through date after date can be tiring and disappointing. We may often find ourselves cursing our choices, the people we attract, and cursing the here and now. It’s terribly easy to spiral down that path, but that wouldn’t be very Christian. Think of all the things Jesus has blessed you with right now. It’s important to be appreciative of everything you have in the here and now. Let God flow through you. Work with the moment, don’t fight it. Think of yourself as floating down a river not trying to swim upstream.

If you’re finding that easier said than done, start by affirming your potential instead of criticizing your brokenness. God made you as perfect the way you are. The simple fact that you are alive means that you are deserving of love. Have faith in your potential as a dynamite, full human being.

Use compassion and mercy when you’re dating. Sure you want to size up your date, but that doesn’t give you an excuse to judge them. Look at them as a full person. Let your true Christian nature shine through. Likewise, look for their Christian nature. Someone can tell you they go to church and believe in the tenets of the bible, but if they aren’t actively practicing what they preach, they may be a wolf in sheep’s clothing. At the end of the day, kind and generous behavior is more important that espousing beliefs. Actions speak louder than words.
